Township's own official site (baragatownship.org) states that as of July 1, 2023 the State of Michigan enforces the building code in Baraga Township for all new permits (State of Michigan Permit Division 517-241-9317; local building inspector Daniel Grochowski 906-235-2592; electrical inspector Russ Welch 906-450-3688 via State Permit Division 517-241-9313). A Zoning Compliance Permit must first be obtained from the Township before the State issues a building permit.
